JAY

Jay was born in Seattle, Washington but moved to Korea when he was 9 years old.
Jay, along with Heeseung, Sunghoon and Jungwon were trainees under Big Hit Entertainment.
He trained for 2 years and 11 months under Big Hit Entertainment.
He attended LP Dance Academy prior to joining Big Hit Entertainment. (source)
He trained for two years and eleven months before taking part in I-LAND.
He earned second place in the final of I-LAND (1,182,889 votes).
He and Sunghoon performed NCT U‘s The 7th Sense together in the first episode of I-LAND.
He is an only child. Both of his parents are Korean.

He can speak conversational Japanese, which he learned by watching anime and listening to radio shows.
Jay is a passionate guitar player. He plays the guitar daily and brings one on tour when he travels. He currently has a collection of 9 guitars.
He’s good at hip-hop style dance.
Jay is the best cook of the group. His dream was to be a chef when he was younger. Gordon Ramsay is Jay’s favorite chef. (Source)

Jay likes clothes and fashion in general. He has his own show on Enhypen’s Youtube channel where he shares styling and fashion tips with help from the members.

Jay contributed to lyrics for “Sweet Venom.” He is the second member in Enhypen to have songwriting credit on their songs.

Jay is an ARMY, and shared on Weverse a photo of his 2017 BTS Season’s Greetings. Heeseung said he once visited Jay’s house when they were trainees, and he had a Jimin sticker on his computer which was gifted by a friend. (Source)

Jay collaborated with legendary J-rock group Glay on ‘whodunit’ for their 30th anniversary album. He is the first Enhypen member to have a solo collaboration. He also wrote lyrics to all parts of the song he participated in.
